The Last Stand

Ok...so I usually delve into deep introspective  stuff but bottom line, I'm a regular guy. I like things other people do and more importantly, I am a FOOTBALL FAN! In my opinion..the best sport on earth next to Mixed Martial Arts. With that being said; today marked the first Sunday of NFL football for the 2011-2012 season and I'm taking a blog entry to voice my opinion on the current state of MY franchise, the Indianapolis Colts.

First and foremost, fans of other teams an avid Colts haters enjoy your season of using games against my team as merely a warm-up practice game for the following opponent cuz we're done. There's plenty of blame to pass around for what is going on with my team right now but bottom line..we have NO Peyton Manning this season thanks to the lockout which robbed him of the opportunity to consult and get the necessary treatment deserved from the team trainers and doctors. 3 neck surgeries in 18 months will do anyone in but am I the only one who feels it is the Colts responsibility to have established a back-up plan for Peyton's absence? Am I the ONLY one who believes that the embarrassing season ahead for my team is due to the lack of preparation from the team's front office and their naive belief that Peyton is indestructible? I BETTER NOT BE!

The demise of my team this season is due to two simple facts:
1) WE DON'T DRAFT TALENT.......we rather kick money to aging talent who show that their aging with each season
2) WE BUILT THE ORGANIZATION AROUND PEYTON MANNING...who by the way..IS JUST ONE MAN!!!

Like we all didn't see him struggle last season with all the injuries on the roster...its unfair to have him carry a franchise season in and out. Keys to success moving forward are pretty simple to comprehend...A) next time...why dont we DRAFT a young QB who can STUDY under Peyton instead of old ass Kerry Collins who actually RETIRED at the end of last season but we paid for him to come back. B) Invest in a younger, ruthless defense so that we don't allow offenses to have a field day on our asses

For the past several seasons my franchise has been viewed as the pinnacle of consistency in high performance....and yet we've been sorely exposed this season with the temporary loss of Peyton which brings me to my ONLY point of this entry..I love my team but I DO NOT believe in placing the burden of an ENTIRE ORGANIZATION on ONE man...to NO capacity

For as I recalled..PEYTON MANNING DID NOT WIN THE 2007 SUPER BOWL...The Indianapolis Colts did.................
