The Desire (For More)

Sometimes events in life can take you places mentally and emotionally you never imaged yourself going. We're talking highs never felt before....lows close to the feeling of death but most can relate or will say..life in these challenging times is like hell on Earth. Unemployment is high; financial debt is overwhelming; it seems as though things will not progress anytime soon and it comes to mind to go ahead and except things as they are....and live life as you see it.

As J.Cole would say, "..but what about your SEED n*gga?!"...what about your furture? What about your dreams which can translate to reality through diligence and hard work? Too many of us are suckered into the "9-5" mentality..too afraid to pursue ventures out of their comfort zone for fear of fiscal loss. Yet analyze every multi-million dollar company that has servived the current economic slump and you will see that 99% of them were built on "a dollar and a dream".

TO make it in today's world you have to have the desire to want for for yourself and your future..to sit in a fast food restuarant and wonder how people can live off minimum wage isn't good enough..because simply they cant! and neither can you.....

Its time to get up and invest in yourself..put action items to your dreams and take steps towards turning your dreams to reality. Lacking the education to do what you want? Go back to school. Lacking the fund? Network and educate yourself on how you can recieve your share of the millions of free money the goverment gives away every year. The concept of independent ownership is rising back to prominence so why not take advantage of it? Use these challenging times to make more of you life then that to which someone else corporately above you says its worth?

What are you worth? A minimal pay scale or an invaulable contributor to society? All these questions you must answer for yourself in your own pursuit of happiness........

The Fear

What motivates you?

Most people would probably say that it is either a better life for themselves/kids or FEAR. Its funny how fear is perhaps the most powerful and common motivating factor behind every decision a person makes. Fear can cause relationship to grow, deteriorate or stall. Fear can make the difference between you being here today and gone tomorrow. It takes such a powerful grip over the lives of those who it consumes that some would argue it to be a more powerful presence that God. Hmmmmm...

And there's plenty of reasons to justify fear as the #1 motivating factor. Look at the current state of the economy. Once upon of time you were able to go to school and finish with a degree that got you a decent paying job; enough to cover your daily expenses and get you on your way to a retirement plan. Needless to say that is pretty much non-existent today. Fear of unemployment, fear of not being able to provide for those closest to you let alone yourself...the need for a material piece of paper in order to just survive drives the very thing that sucks you of life from within.....Fear....

See I have common, every day stressors just like you do. So how come I am able to continue to hold on to hope? Life is what you make it. I chose a long time ago to stop living in fear and start living in abundance. Fear of loss took me to an almost unreturnable low and that is not something anyone should live by.

Search for your highs through your lows. Count your simple blessings in knowing that someone did not wake up today...but you did. Turn every reason of motivation driven by fear to reason driven by positive motivation. Establish a goal and more importantly a route to that goal. Know that the road to life is about as unleveled as it gets...but often times your destination to happiness is closer than in distance than you expect to travel...think on that.....

The Last Stand

Ok...so I usually delve into deep introspective  stuff but bottom line, I'm a regular guy. I like things other people do and more importantly, I am a FOOTBALL FAN! In my opinion..the best sport on earth next to Mixed Martial Arts. With that being said; today marked the first Sunday of NFL football for the 2011-2012 season and I'm taking a blog entry to voice my opinion on the current state of MY franchise, the Indianapolis Colts.

First and foremost, fans of other teams an avid Colts haters enjoy your season of using games against my team as merely a warm-up practice game for the following opponent cuz we're done. There's plenty of blame to pass around for what is going on with my team right now but bottom line..we have NO Peyton Manning this season thanks to the lockout which robbed him of the opportunity to consult and get the necessary treatment deserved from the team trainers and doctors. 3 neck surgeries in 18 months will do anyone in but am I the only one who feels it is the Colts responsibility to have established a back-up plan for Peyton's absence? Am I the ONLY one who believes that the embarrassing season ahead for my team is due to the lack of preparation from the team's front office and their naive belief that Peyton is indestructible? I BETTER NOT BE!

The demise of my team this season is due to two simple facts:
1) WE DON'T DRAFT TALENT.......we rather kick money to aging talent who show that their aging with each season
2) WE BUILT THE ORGANIZATION AROUND PEYTON MANNING...who by the way..IS JUST ONE MAN!!!

Like we all didn't see him struggle last season with all the injuries on the roster...its unfair to have him carry a franchise season in and out. Keys to success moving forward are pretty simple to comprehend...A) next time...why dont we DRAFT a young QB who can STUDY under Peyton instead of old ass Kerry Collins who actually RETIRED at the end of last season but we paid for him to come back. B) Invest in a younger, ruthless defense so that we don't allow offenses to have a field day on our asses

For the past several seasons my franchise has been viewed as the pinnacle of consistency in high performance....and yet we've been sorely exposed this season with the temporary loss of Peyton which brings me to my ONLY point of this entry..I love my team but I DO NOT believe in placing the burden of an ENTIRE ORGANIZATION on ONE man...to NO capacity

For as I recalled..PEYTON MANNING DID NOT WIN THE 2007 SUPER BOWL...The Indianapolis Colts did.................

The Interlude

Its been a while...life has taken its toll. No, not really; this is just a regular blog. no deep thoughts but only reflections of the past week or so of life. Working hard, loving harder is the way I'm taking things nowadays. Took some time to myself to recollect thoughts that became lost in translation while going through the notions of life...its crazy what comes to mind when you just take a moment to yourself and contemplate...

Contemplation seems to expose the very person you truly are to yourself...if you're "fake", your inner thoughts will reveal..skeletons in your closet? Your inner emotions seem to expose. Where am I going with this? Shouldn't it be plain simple at this point? The human thought process is said to be one of the most, if not the most, complex engines to decipher. I say it is the ultimate tool of progression..as you wake up and take on your daily life...do you ever make the time to reflect? When things are going wrong, do you take the time to focus rather than dwell? The power of decision is greater than that of any other power to the human being...
I said I was gonna keep this post simple, and I am...simple in the fact that it should be easy to comprehend....your power of choice effects every aspect of life..guided by faith, it can bring your personal life to full fruition. I chose to live life abundantly...what do you chose?

The War

Love.....

Crazy right??....The things we individuals will do the attention, the affection, the feeling of belonging in something that feels so right...hoping it remains right, even when it goes wrong. Why do we love? Its just human nature to want, to desire, to thrive off a power of selflessness driven by selfishness..We need it, have to have it...those of us who chose to live without it do so because we're scared of it...scared of its power because when unharnessed love can cause damage...but whose really to blame? The person or the emotion?

If its the person to blame why love? If its the emotion to blame then why lust? Cuz lust is just love minus the emotion plus the chemical reaction caused by that devil on your shoulder telling you, "I want it........" whether you know what you want or not.....

Love can make you do wrong, love can make you do right is what they say but I say...love is what you make it...so if your heart is big, love with all of it BUT...love only the one who will RESPECT it.....Hurt is not only unavoidable when carrying this emotion but necessary because if you were never hurt by love then you're forever a fool by love because you'll love ANYTHING....

And yet we focus so much on the pain love brings, without realizing the irony of the pain is that pleasure ALWAYS ensues..so charge it to the game next time you feel some type of way about a person you think or at least thought you care about...wonder why next time you feel alone when you have suitors lined up out the door...question your intent the next time you're approached and you're thinking yes but really saying no.....

Love is a game of chess..the board your life, the pawns your past; the rooks your future; the knights your regrets; the bishops your decisions; the Queen your consequences.....
So no matter weather you play your love black or white...just make sure to protect your KING...

The War......................

The Introduction

Welcome...to my world of introspection...a world world filled with irony that pushes the limits of my pursuit for progression; see..i'm not your normal thinker..thoughts torture my mind on a daily but....bring so many blessings I can't count them all...

Let me take you to a place of thought...where philosophers can't find the answers, realists are lost in helpless romanticism and atheists may just find reason for prayer. Let me take you to a place where time is on your side because all you have is time to think..think of the direction your introspection is taking...

You see I'm just an abnormal normal guy...Just like you I take life's numerous bumps and blows but have been blessed with this thing called maturity..to which I credit my walk with God. I'm not perfect; no one is. I have my flaws, of course. But I strive not for perfection but for PROGRESSION....its the only sensible route towards a life of fulfillment.

This is the Book of Loki..where you are invited to take a look at the irony of what life has to offer in every aspect. Come feel the highs, the lows, the numbness, the pain, the sorrow, the pleasure, the lust, the emotions of words that translate thoughts to raise questions about questions you never think to verbally ask or mentally consider....

Welcome to introspection at its best.................
